Our Manufacturing Capability

Aluminium Bending Specialists Ltd (ABS) operates one of the largest aluminium section bending and curving capacities in the UK, enabling us to support complex, high-volume and specialist projects with confidence.

The ABS Factory

Our purpose-built facility has the capacity to bend and curve aluminium extrusions and sections up to 400mm in sectional size on plan and up to 700mm on elevation. This allows us to work with a wide range of aluminium profiles across architectural, construction and specialist manufacturing applications.

ABS operates eight CNC and NC aluminium section bending machines, giving us flexibility, precision and consistency across all bending methods and project sizes.  Our production is supported by a permanent team of 20 highly skilled aluminium bending technicians, working on a two-shift operation to ensure efficiency and reliable lead times. With many years of hands-on experience in aluminium bending and forming, our workforce is one of our greatest strengths.

In-House Tooling & Advanced Bending Methods

Our in-house tooling facility allows us to design, modify and manufacture bending tools quickly and cost-effectively, helping to reduce lead times and keep projects moving smoothly.

We also utilise the encapsulation bending method, which enables a wide variety of aluminium sections and extrusions to be curved without the need for expensive tooling, often associated with alternative techniques such as stretch bending. This process is particularly effective for painted aluminium sections, allowing them to be curved without damaging the surface finish.

Finishing & Quality Control

All mill-finish aluminium sections are carefully cleaned and finished after bending to remove any marks created during the forming process. This ensures they are fully prepared for additional surface treatments, including powder coating and anodising, applied to meet each customer’s specification.

To guarantee accuracy, consistency and accountability, every aluminium section is logged into our computerised tracking system and assigned a unique reference number. This provides full traceability throughout the bending and finishing process, ensuring each component meets the required specification before dispatch.
